AcademyHealth is committed to promoting a culture of equitable and inclusive values, policies, and practices across the field of health services and policy research (HSR). This work is sponsored by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

With support from the HHS’ Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute and NORC are exploring state-level data approaches to improve patient-centered maternal health outcomes.

This collaboration between AcademyHealth and the Donaghue Foundation supports the development of research focused on achieving high-value, equitable care that addresses the needs of health care systems, researchers, patients, and the broader community.

Hosted by AcademyHealth, the 2023 Health Equity DataJam invites participants to transform raw data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services into actionable insights and digital tools to bridge disparities of health, including those exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Long COVID, and infection-associated chronic illnesses to ensure equitable access and wellness for all. Submissions are now closed.

AcademyHealth, in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital and FamilyVoices, is leading a Coordinating Center to support five Health Resources & Services Administration (HSRA)-funded demonstration sites to optimize the health and well-being for children with medical complexity and their families while also achieving health equity for these populations

With support from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), Rutgers University and the University of Pittsburgh, in collaboration with AcademyHealth, aim to examine the potential of permanent supportive housing programs to mitigate health disparities among Medicaid enrollees experiencing homelessness.

In partnership with the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, AcademyHealth supports the funding of research addressing pre-hospital diagnostic delays related to cancer, sepsis, and acute cardiovascular events.

Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, AcademyHealth supports three national change leadership programs though policy and communications training.

This collaboration between AcademyHealth and the ABIM Foundation supports the advancement of research on improving trust in our health care system.
