Overview
The Child Health Services Research Interest Group provides a forum for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and trainees to interact around health services and policy issues affecting children. From a life course perspective, the Interest Group recognizes the important role of pregnancy and perinatal health, family context, and the dynamics of transitions from childhood to adolescence to young adulthood in shaping health and well-being. The Interest Group provides opportunities to disseminate results, inform policy and clinical decision-making, build research skills, and foster networking opportunities for those interested in all areas of child-related health services and policy inquiry.

Advisory Committee
Each Interest Group (IG) is led by a dedicated group of volunteers who shape the information provided to IG members each year. The Advisory Committee is selected on an annual basis with nominations opening in June of each year. Check out this year’s Child Health Services Research IG Advisory Committee.
Interest group participation is a benefit of AcademyHealth membership.
Community of Practice
The CHSR IG Community of Practice meets monthly on topics across a range of issues faced by child health services researchers. The aim is four-fold:
- To build a community of health services researchers dedicated to learning, sharing, and supporting topics related to the health of children and their families;
- To provide an opportunity for child health services researchers to network in a relaxed, shared space outside of the yearly AcademyHealth conference;
- To offer a monthly opportunity for learning and problem solving alongside other child health services researchers across various methodologies and areas of practice;
- To deliver a platform for the presentation and discussion of emerging research questions, topics, challenges, and innovative methodologies related to child health services research that would benefit from the collective thoughts and feedback of enthusiastic and supportive child health researchers
