Dr. Schlesinger is Professor of Health Policy at the Yale School of Public Health, a fellow at Yale’s Institution for Social and Policy Studies as well as past editor of the Journal of Health Policy, Politics and Law. Dr. Schlesinger’s research explores (a) the development of rigorous methods for eliciting patient narratives to improve health system performance, provider well-being and equity of health outcomes, (b) the determinants of public opinion about health and social policy, (c) the influence of bounded rationality on medical consumers, and (d) the implications of persisting levels of economic insecurity on the behaviors and well-being of the American public. His favored sports include uncompetitive volleyball and unlighted table tennis.
