Dawn Alley is Director of the Prevention and Population Health Group at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, which is responsible for innovative payment and service delivery models including the Accountable Health Communities model, the Million Hearts Cardiovascular Risk Reduction model, and the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program.  Prior to joining CMMI, Dawn served as Senior Advisor in the Office of the Surgeon General, where she oversaw implementation of the National Prevention Strategy.  She has extensive expertise in population health and aging, with more than 50 publications in journals including the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA.  Dawn holds a Ph.D. in Gerontology from the University of Southern California and received post-doctoral training in population health through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health and Society Scholars program at the University of Pennsylvania.
