Corwin “Corey” Rhyan is a Research Director at Altarum, where he studies the economics of health care including research on the social determinants of health, prevention, and the economic burden of disease. These projects have involved modeling and costbenefit analyses on topics including childhood lead exposure, the opioid epidemic, pay-for-success initiatives, nutrition and obesity, clean water access, behavioral health care services, childhood asthma prevention, and maternal prenatal interventions. He has also led projects monitoring state and national trends in health care spending, prices, and employment using federal accounting and state all-payer claims database data. He has studied a broad range of topics on the value and cost drivers of US health care and assists regularly in the production of Altarum’s monthly Health Sector Economic Indicators and Research Briefs.
