Health Equity DataJam

Hosted by AcademyHealth, the 2023 Health Equity DataJam invites participants to transform raw data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services into actionable insights and digital tools to bridge disparities of health, including those exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Long COVID, and infection-associated chronic illnesses to ensure equitable access and wellness for all. Submissions are now closed.

Analyzing Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing in Medicaid Populations

With support from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Foundation, AcademyHealth’s Evidence-Informed State Health Policy Institute in collaboration with the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill is assessing syphilis testing among pregnant Medicaid beneficiaries as well as rates of STI testing of state Medicaid beneficiaries on PrEP.

Since 2016, AcademyHealth has worked with the California Health Care Foundation to assist digital health market entrants understand their responsibilities under and effectively navigate the Privacy and Security Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as well as other federal and California privacy and security laws.

Building Capacity to Improve HIV Viral Suppression Data in Medicaid

NASTAD (National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors), in partnership with AcademyHealth and the University of California San Francisco, are collaborating on a four-year Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant focused on building state capacity to report HIV viral suppression data through the HVL-AD measure as part of the annual Medicaid Adult Core Set.
