The AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting (ARM) is our biggest and most popular meeting of the year, and we know it offers important - and often irreplaceable - professional and networking opportunities for our community.

Although the ARM is still a few months away, we are closely monitoring the impact of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).  At this time, and considering the currently available information, we intend to hold the 2020 Annual Research Meeting (ARM) as planned, and registration is scheduled to open the week of March 16.

We are aware that a number of institutions have instituted temporary restrictions on travel, which may change as the course of the virus changes. To accommodate our community we are:

  • Extending the response window for speakers and poster presenters. Notifications will be sent on March 16, with updated deadlines to confirm participation.
  • Extending the early registration deadline until May 1, 2020 to allow more time for decision-making.
  • Updating our cancellation dates and policies. Registrants and exhibitors who are unable to travel due to COVID-19 may cancel at any time to receive a full refund. The deadline for all other cancellations is extended to May 20, 2020.

The health and safety of our community is of primary concern. As an organization committed to the use of evidence in decision-making, we are relying upon evidence and information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and the state and local health departments where our offices, meetings and events are held. We are aware of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s recent declaration of a state of emergency and will continue to monitor events in the state, and around the country, closely.

This is a fluid situation and we will continue to update the status of our other meetings and events on a case-by-case basis. The most up-to-date information is available here

We will continue to communicate directly with speakers, presenters and registrants directly via email as well. Thank you for your interest in the Annual Research Meeting, and your patience as we gather information and work together to ensure a successful summer event!
