Sara Wakefield is an associate professor of criminal justice at Rutgers University, Newark. Her research investigates the causes and consequences of mass incarceration, with a focus on families, reentry, and inequality. With Christopher Wildeman, she is author of Children of the Prison Boom: Mass Incarceration and the Future of American Inequality (Oxford University Press). More recently, her work is focused on the reentry experiences of formerly incarcerated people and their families.
