Genevieve P. Kanter, PhD, is an economist whose research focuses on the FDA and regulation of biomedical technologies; conflicts of interest; and hospital and physician payment models. She is Associate Professor in the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California (USC), appointed in the Department of Health Policy and Management. She is also a Fellow of the Leonard D Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics at USC. In addition to her institutional appointments, Professor Kanter serves on the Medicare Evidence Development & Coverage Advisory Committee (MEDCAC).

She received a PhD in Economics and Sociology from the University of Chicago, and completed NIH research fellowships at Princeton University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard University. Her work has been published in leading journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Health Affairs, Milbank Quarterly, and the American Journal of Public Health.
