Angela J. Beck, Ph.D., M.P.H. is Principal Investigator and Director of the HRSA/SAMHSA-funded Behavioral Health Workforce Research Center at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where she also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Health Behavior and Health Education, Director of the Region V Public Health Training Center, and Assistant Dean for Student Engagement and Practice. Since joining the University of Michigan in 2005, Dr. Beck has served in management and research roles to conduct national workforce studies for public health nurses, epidemiologists, laboratory workers, and other public health disciplines. Her research efforts are now focused on determining size, characteristics, and capacity of the behavioral health workforce. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physiology from Michigan State University and Master of Public Health and PhD degrees from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Health Behavior and Health Education.
