This project is funded as part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s solicitation “Policy-Relevant Insurance Studies” (PRIS),  which supports studies that address the macro and micro effects of policies related to health insurance. The goal of this project is to provide information to state policymakers about potential outcomes of Medicaid expansion beyond access to care and health outcomes. The researchers will use data from a major credit bureau and the U.S. Census Bureau’s Small Area Health Insurance Estimates to examine the effect of Medicaid expansion on personal finances.
