Evidence Roadmap: Telehealth and Health Care Access for Rural Populations
In 2015, AcademyHealth conducted interviews with safety net providers and other experts to identify high-priority evidence and data needs relevant to safety net care. This Roadmap responds to interviewees’ stated interest in evidence on telehealth.
This brief presents a selected set of research studies, systematic reviews, and other resources to help safety net delivery system leaders and other decision makers assess existing evidence on telehealth as a strategy for mitigating health care access issues in rural areas. It is one of several Evidence Roadmaps that highlight existing evidence on high-priority topics identified by policymakers and delivery system leaders in AcademyHealth’s Listening Project reports.
