The Design Teams, meeting twice a month, continue to make progress on their ideas by gathering feedback through candid testing conversations and collaboratively refining their prototypes. Additionally, the video recording of a Paradigm Project session, Revolutionizing Health Services Research through Design Thinking, at AcademyHealth’s Annual Research Meeting is now publicly available and linked in the newsletter.

This month’s articles include helpful resources on democratizing data and a report on how the field of public health can wield data science to advance health equity. On peer review, the newsletter pairs an editorial about the celebration of peer review with a resource on increasing the credibility of preprints. The newsletter also highlights the ways social media can be a facilitator and inhibitor of effective science communication, and closes with two resources on diversity, equity, and inclusion and community engagement in research.
