2015 New Investigators, NISGP partners, and AcademyHealth NISGP staff at the 2015 National Health Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.

Over the last seven years, AcademyHealth has significantly expanded its professional development program to include benefits at each stage of a member's career trajectory. A missing and key step in early professional development for our members is the ability to compete effectively for small grants, especially as part of a national competition. To complement our existing set of members-only professional development benefits and opportunities, we have established the AcademyHealth New Investigator Small Grant Program.

The program's purpose is to support the early careers of new health services researchers by funding innovative, timely, and relevant research and/or translation activities that advance the vision of AcademyHealth of improving health and the performance of the healthcare system by generating evidence and moving evidence into policy and practice. AcademyHealth will seek relevant, external partners to sponsor additional awards on their priority research topics. AcademyHealth will administer all awards and allow external partners to participate in the selection of the investigators for their topics.

The New Investigator Small Grant Program will not be available for the 2017-2018 cycle. To receive notification of when the next cycle opens, please contact AcademyHealth staff.

Congratulations to the 2017 cohort of New Investigator Small Grant Program Awardees! Read the press release.
