There is no bigger, hot-button issue today than health care. Perhaps now more than ever, within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming 2020 election, it is crucial to grasp the fundamentals of health policymaking – how the many pieces of the health care puzzle work together.

Take a deep dive into all aspects of health policy at the virtual Health Policy Orientation. In the past, the in-person Orientation had a small meeting format of 50 participants. Since pivoting to a virtual format (with the safety of our attendees in mind), there is a new, untapped opportunity to reach a wider audience with diverse perspectives who wish to learn the ins and outs of health policymaking.

Attendees will explore the many mechanisms of the policy process, including its key players (from relevant congressional staff to the three branches of government and federal agencies), an overview of the federal budget process, and insights into state health policy, public opinion, current affairs, including COVID-19, and more.
