Lindsay Allen, PhD, MA is a health economist, health services researcher, and assistant professor in the Health Policy, Management, and Leadership Department in West Virginia University’s School of Public Health.  Much of her work focuses on improving health care access and outcomes for underserved populations, especially through state-level policy initiatives. She is the Principal Investigator for West Virginia’s Medicaid 1115 Substance Use Disorder Waiver Evaluation, and an active member of AcademyHealth’s State-University Partnership Learning Network. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes for Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and private foundations.  Dr. Allen is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, the University of Chicago, and Emory University. Prior to her graduate work, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry, and as a senior health care technology analyst for the ECRI Institute.
