Karen Emmons is Professor of Social and Behavioral Science at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Emmons is a behavioral scientist with a strong track record of funded research in community-based approaches to cancer prevention in a variety of settings that serve disadvantaged populations, including low income housing and community health centers. She also has expertise in implementation science, and has been actively involved in national training efforts in this area. She is the faculty lead of the Harvard CTSA’s community engagement program, which focuses on accelerating evidence-based practice and policy to advance community health. Her education includes an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from State University of New York at Stony Brook, and an internship in Behavioral Medicine at Brown University School of Medicine.  She is Past-President of the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and  a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
