Tisha Wiley, Ph.D. is a social psychologist and the Assistant Director for Criminal Justice at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Dr. Wiley oversees approximately $30 million in health services research grants annually. Dr. Wiley’s portfolio includes three overlapping areas of scientific inquiry: (1) drug abuse treatment services in criminal justice, juvenile justice, and child welfare settings; (2) implementation science, and (3) technology (e.g., social media, mHealth), methodology, and measurement development. Dr. Wiley has served as the NIDA project scientist on several large-scale multi-site research initiatives, including NIDA’s Juvenile Justice Translational Interventions for Adolescents in the Legal System (JJ-TRIALS) and Criminal Justice Drug Abuse Treatment Studies (CJ-DATS) cooperative research programs, and the NIH Common Fund Patient Reported Outcome Measurement Information System (PROMIS) initiative. Prior to joining NIDA, Tisha was a fellow at the Office of Behavioral and Social Science Research (OBSSR) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she worked several methodological initiatives, including leading efforts around data visualization and visual analytics. Before coming to the NIH, Tisha was the Assistant Director of Research at the Juvenile Protective Association, a non-profit social service agency in Chicago. Tisha received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009.
