Sandy Fried joined AcademyHealth in October 2015 and is the Conferences Manager on the conference team. In this capacity, Sandy is responsible for coordinating the faculty and curriculum for the Annual Research Meeting, National Health Policy Conference, and the Health Data Policy and Strategy Orientation.

Prior to joining AcademyHealth, Sandy coordinated the faculty and continuing education credits for the National Council for Behavioral Health’s annual meeting for five years. Earlier in her career, she served as a legislative assistant for health and human services to two governors in their Washington, DC offices and to U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan of Missouri. Following her policy work, Sandy taught U.S. Government to high school seniors for six years in Havertown, Pennsylvania. Sandy earned her B.A. in Government from Cornell University, a Masters of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University, and a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education for Social Studies from American University.
