Robert Martiniano, Dr.P.H., M.P.A., is the Senior Program Manager at the Center for Health Workforce Studies (the Center), which he joined in 2001. Dr. Martiniano has an extensive background in health workforce research, survey and evaluation design, and project management. He is the lead staff on the development of federal shortage designations for New York State, including providing technical assistance to organizations and providers on shortage area designations and on state and federal service-obligated programs. Dr. Martiniano is also the lead staff on a number of other workforce projects at the Center, including its annual report on New York’s health workforce, its annual nursing graduation survey, the New York State Health Workforce Planning Data Guide, and the development of profession-specific surveys. He has also worked with counties and hospitals in identifying and assessing information for their community needs assessment. Dr. Martiniano is involved on a number of community boards and is an adjunct professor at the School of Management at the Sage Colleges, teaching courses on health systems and strategic planning.
