Jackie is a PhD candidate in health services research at Boston University. She was awarded the Emerging Scholars in Family Planning grant from the Society of Family Planning to support her dissertation research on parental coverage and insurance use for confidential services. This research evaluates the impact of the national dependent coverage expansion and parental coverage status on insurance use for sexual and reproductive health services, and was voted best poster at the 2019 ARM. She also publishes on various topics related to harm reduction, including pre-exposure prophylaxis and Naloxone.

Jackie earned her master’s in public health management and policy from the University of Florida where she completed practicum research on the operationalization of the National Strategic HIV/AIDS Framework in Belize. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked in community-engaged research and abortion care. She will complete her Doctorate in December, and hopes to conduct postdoctoral research at the intersection of health economics, insurance reform, and the gendered causes and consequences of sexual/reproductive health disparities.
