Ernest Moy, M.D., M.P.H., is a medical officer in the Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). At AHRQ, his work has included directing the development of the annual National Healthcare Disparities Report and National Healthcare Quality Report and related web tools, as well as supporting AHRQ’s Excellence Centers for the Elimination of Ethnic/Racial Disparities and AHRQ’s Patient Safety Organization program.
Dr. Moy served as an Innovator-in-Residence in July 2014, during which time he developed an agent-based model of health disparities. Created using the web-based software NetLogo, Dr. Moy’s model is intended to help policymakers, students, and others understand the factors and complex interactions affecting health disparities.
