Abbey Meltzer is the Vice President of Communications and Events at the Foundation for the NIH (FNIH). Ms. Meltzer’s responsibilities include managing all external communications, media relations, digital communications, including website, social and email marketing as well as overseeing strategic communications and outreach activities. She also supervises the FNIH’s Events department, which coordinates more than 50 events worldwide each year. 

Ms. Meltzer joined the FNIH in June 2015 from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Sciences, where she served as Director of Communications. 

Before joining the IOM, Ms. Meltzer worked as an Associate Editorial Producer for CNN’s Washington, DC, bureau and as an anchor/reporter for WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sociology from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Professional Studies degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
