Washington, D.C. (12/01/2015) — AcademyHealth welcomes Angelica Rodriguez as its new Membership Director. In her role, Ms. Rodriguez will be responsible for the recruitment, retention and engagement of members and affiliate organizations and will oversee the support and further development of AcademyHealth’s Interest Groups and Student Chapters.

Ms. Rodriguez joins the Senior Leadership Team at AcademyHealth where she will work with the organization’s executive team and Board of Directors to develop a strategic plan for membership; identify opportunities for member recruitment, retention, and engagement; assess current and potential member benefits; and enhance member value and engagement. She will also serve as the lead contact to current and prospective Organizational Affiliates.

“As a membership organization, we wanted to ensure that we brought on a new membership director who could not only maximize the significance and reach of our membership base, but also create an environment that promotes member value and appreciation,” said Terry Mackey, AcademyHealth’s Vice President of Learning and Membership Engagement. “Angelica is an experienced leader who brings years of association and membership leadership experience as well as the charisma to build relationships with professionals across industries.”

“I’m extremely excited to join AcademyHealth and build upon the opportunities to expand and increase the value of membership. I particularly look forward to collaborating with our internal programmatic teams to further engage members and discover new audiences to enrich the diversity within this already dynamic community,” said Ms. Rodriguez.

Ms. Rodriguez also expressed interest in reaching out to the millennial population. “As one of the fastest growing populations of the workforce, millennials are a crucial part of our membership. I believe AcademyHealth will benefit from increasing our work with young professionals.”

Ms. Rodriguez brings many years of membership experience to her new role. Prior to joining AcademyHealth, Ms. Rodriguez worked at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as the director of major gifts and spent eight years at the National Retail Federation as a senior director. Ms. Rodriguez received her bachelor’s degree from Rice University.
