This list contains core book titles addressing methods of economic evaluation in health and public health, including the valuation of health states, as well as a list of selected titles applying economic evaluation to specific subject areas within the broad category of health and public health. Produced by AcademyHealth at the request of the National Library of Medicine’s National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technology, this list of book titles supplements a core library module (books, journals, bibliographic databases, and Web sites) on health economics created in September 2001. AcademyHealth staff worked with the Health Economics Research Group (HERG) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as experts in the field, to capture these additional core books. This list
is primarily geared to librarians interested in expanding their health
economics collection or toward individuals who are new to the field or
unfamiliar with books addressing economic evaluation in health and public
