For more than five years, the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice has been working to raise awareness about the need to study vital questions concerning public health infrastructure. This year's session will provide an opportunity to highlight the progress the field has made. For example, researchers and research agendas have been identified and several recent funding initiatives will advance PHSR. This year's forum will also serve as a "training session" to help researchers make the pitch for funding for PHSR. Representatives from funding agencies and foundations will present advice to assist researchers in connecting critical PHSR questions to funders' priorities.
