“At a time when the health care landscape is changing so quickly, the Kresge Population Health Scholar opportunity is a timely opportunity to immerse yourself with other scholars across the nation and learn from national experts what are some of the top health policy priorities – from Medicaid expansion to value-based care to funding for public health and health care research. Like a physical bootcamp, the policy bootcamp promoted camaraderie among the other scholars where we shared experiences from our professional backgrounds and identified opportunities to work together.”

Genevive C. Falconi, M.D., 2015 Population Health Scholarship Recipient

"The unique opportunity given to me as a Kresge Population Health Scholar gave me tremendous insight into our country’s policymaking and how it affects communities. Population health management is an increasing priority for my organization. Our School Based Health Care Program at Cleveland Clinic Children’s aims to address population health management by providing health access to students in schools in order to improve health outcomes in the communities we serve. As Medical Director of our program, my experience as a Kresge Population Health Scholar taught me the value of building relationships in the communities and moving people to involvement and engagement. Our program relies on building effective partnerships within the community and in schools, and my experience reinforced that concept.
