The Child Health Services Research Meeting Call for Panels and Posters offers researchers the opportunity to disseminate their findings and provide policymakers and providers information to make sound decisions to improve child health and health services. The call for panels also provides researchers an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and organize a 90-minute session. Individual abstracts in panel proposals not selected for presentation will be considered for poster presentation. Researchers and policymakers are encouraged to submit panels and posters on all child health services research topics, especially the following:

• Evidence-based pediatric practice

• Medicaid and SCHIP

• Disparities in children's health services

• Quality of children's health services

Criteria for Evaluating Submissions

All panel and poster submissions will undergo blind peer review and be evaluated with the following criteria: (1) quality and originality; (2) potential significance to disciplinary theory or application to child health services management, policy, or clinical practice;(3) timeliness; (4) clarity of writing and presentation; and (5) completed or nearly completed research.

Only abstracts submitted online will be considered. Submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. E.S.T on February 8, 2008, to be considered. We encourage you to submit early to ensure prompt confirmation and processing.

• Do not use tables, graphs, special formatting (e.g., bold and underline), or scientific symbols. Abstracts with these features will not be considered.

• Limit each abstract to 500 words, starting the word count with the Research Objective section.

The CHSR Meeting is an annual one-day meeting featuring plenary and breakout sessions on topics of interest to the child health services research community. Breakouts include research presentations, policy roundtables, and skill building sessions. Additional information about the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting, immediately following the CHSR meeting, is available online. Abstracts on 22 themes including child health are requested. Separate submission is required, but abstracts may be submitted to both the CHSR Meeting and the Annual Research Meeting as well as other meetings such as the National Research Service Award Trainees Meeting and the meeting of the Pediatric Academic Societies.
