Dr. Chan is Associate Professor with the Department of Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Chan is a health services researcher with extensive experience in psychometrics and patient-reported outcomes (PRO) development and validation. Dr. Chan has particular expertise in the application of item response theory (IRT) to methodological problems associated with the measurement of health-related outcomes. Dr. Chan has been principal investigator of federally funded and foundation funded projects and has served on study sections for NIH and the VA. Dr. Chan is also Associate Director of AHRQ’s NRSA training program in health services research. Prior to joining the faculty of Johns Hopkins University, she was with the RAND Corporation. She received her doctorate in health services research from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
