Dr. Aaron Neinstein is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and Director of Clinical Informatics at UCSF’s Center for Digital Health Innovation. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Clinical Informatics, and is an actively practicing Endocrinologist.

Dr. Neinstein believes in empowering patients and physicians to access, share, understand, and use health information in day-to-day care, including outside of traditional healthcare settings. He has devoted his informatics career to creating tools that facilitate connected, collaborative care and ecosystems that enable innovators to develop and scale health software. He helped lead UCSF's EHR implementation and optimization and was on the founding team of the non-profit Tidepool, which creates open-source software to help empower people with diabetes to make better decisions. At the UCSF CDHI, he leads a collaboration with Cisco to develop Health Stack, a platform enabling the rapid deployment of clinical best practices and innovative solutions into care delivery workflows.
