Australian-American Health Policy Fellowship (2011-2012) The Commonwealth Fund Posted: 6/22/10 Application Deadline: August 15, 2010 The program offers a unique opportunity for outstanding, mid-career U.S. professionals—academics, government officials, clinical leaders, decision makers in managed care and other private health care organizations, and journalists—to spend up to 10 months in Australia conducting research and working with Australian health policy experts on issues relevant to both countries. Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Posted: 3/5/10 Application Deadline: November 12, 2010 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recruiting to fill approximately ten Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship positions for 2011. Prevention effectiveness and public health economics aim to assess the impact of public health policies, programs, and practices on health outcomes by determining efficacy, effectiveness, and efficiency through the use of econometric, decision, simulation, and operations modeling and analytic methods. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in economics, decision sciences, health services research or related health sciences, industrial engineering, operations research, public policy, or related quantitatively-oriented fields. The application period opens on August 2, 2010 and closes November 12, 2010. The 2011 fellowship class begins on August 15, 2011 with an intensive orientation and training program. National University of Singapore (NUS) and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine/Regenstrief Institute Posted: 9/29/09

National University of Singapore and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is searching for an experienced M.D. or Ph.D. investigator capable of serving as a senior mentor and career consultant to NUS faculty pursuing careers as health services researchers. The aim is to support faculty as they compete for newly designated HSR funding in Singapore. Priority domains for this funding include chronic disease management, elder care, health care transitions, patient safety, quality of care, prevention of obesity and diabetes. NUS will provide transportation, salary, and housing for an individual able to commit 6-9 months in residence in 2010. Working with the Regenstrief Institute and other organizations, she/he would identify other overseas faculty who may be interested in spending multiple shorter periods in Singapore to provide mentorship to specific HSR groups within NUS, facilitate grant writing, and publish.
